I read somewhere that we can always find strength inside us as I am sure you have. :)

I'll definitely go online and watch the commercial. I also agree, after strongly speaking against the objectification of the female body, I have reservations against the same thing being done for the men. I too was raped when I was 15 years old. Both my daughters have been victims as well and we live in Canada - a supposedly civilized nation. I cannot imagine how horrible it must be to live in a country where women have virtually no rights at all.

On a side note, I had to laugh at the newest Pepsi commercial that shows three men provocatively and sexually dancing in an office. It's about time the tables were turned however, no one should be used in such a way. I'm sure they were paid well for their part in the commercial but no one should lower his or her self like that.
Martha Jettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08002692107840854669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3810032737718314199.post-18621345840371543132013-01-07T17:55:39.408+00:002013-01-07T17:55:39.408+00:00God!!! Kristen... you humble me!Count me as one of...God!!! Kristen... you humble me!Count me as one of your admirers sister! All I can say is that you are increadibly corageous in facing your demons. You seem to have embraced life and didn't let your tormentors win, for that you deserve a salute.

I do know this, that it is the inherent subversion of masculinity that may have caused all these crimes. I am no expert but can you imagine the world we live in now? A world where one human being can hurt another so visciously?

I think that your idea about the film on this is Brilliant! Long has the media exploited the female body, it's high time that they help spread the voices against brutality and supression as penance. I expe...Thank you very much for sharing this story. I experienced something similar when I was 17 (1971) and I am not sure one ever really recover. I suggest that somebody do a documentary, a book and/or a study of women who survived armed gang-rape in different parts of the world. Recently I have been surprised at how many similarities there are between cases around the world. As if there is a world-norm for armed gang rape and also for the way societies react to women who were gang raped - the punishment of the women may be more or less severe but essentially it comes from the same norm-set. I did not know that before I read about the recent case from India. Let us hear more women tell their story about the aftermath. Thank you again for sharing the insight in this story.Kirsten Mogensenhttp://www.bricksite.com/kirsten-mogensennoreply@blogger.com
